Has any one used retarder for increasing the setting time of alkali activated concretes based on Slag/Flyash blended cement? and what retarder has been used?
Dear Dali Bondar, you can use lignosulfonate - it's classical retarder in AAM (why you use alkali-activation instead of geopolymerization? Geopolymers has much better properties and durability).
Thanks all for your suggestions. But I myself just agree with Quingfa. Others suggested normal retarder for OPC concrete which I don't think would be effective in our system. About using AAM, I think it has less CO2 emission and can be produce cheaper because don't need high amount of sodium silicate. On the other side the properties and durability are comparable to geopolymers.
