20 nondementing stroke in- and outpatients (aged 50–79 yrs) were assessed 1–23 mo after stroke using the Rivermead Behavioural Memory Test (B. Wilson et al; 1985). 10 Ss were asked to recall the "actual route" by walking or propelling a wheelchair in a specified pattern around a room. The other 10 Ss were asked to recall the "model route" by moving a toy figure in the specified pattern around a simple line drawing of the room. Recall of 1 route was followed by presentation of the 2nd route, and after a delay, Ss were asked to recall each route. The model route proved to be clinically useful, easier to use with the disabled, and may replace the actual version when assessing stroke patients. In a group of 100 Ss (aged 15–68 yrs), 56 met the criteria for normality and 44 showed perceptual impairment. All Ss were given the Rivermead Perceptual Assessment Battery and the Rivermead Behavioural Memory Test (RBMT), which was developed to measure and monitor verbal and visual memory in Ss with acquired brain damage. The RBMT was then modified to derive a subscale of 6 items sensitive to memory impairment, but insensitive to perceptual deficit. The reliability of the subscale vs the full-test scores was investigated by comparing the standard profile scores of the 56 normal Ss on both tests. Examined relationships among the Rivermead Behavioral Memory Test (RBMT), laboratory neurocognitive measures, and a rating of everyday adaptive abilities in 36 patients (aged 18–63 yrs) with brain damage. The RBMT correlated moderately with lab measures of memory at about the same level that lab measures correlated with each other. Both RBMT and lab memory measures correlated with staff ratings of Ss' everyday functioning (EF). Adding a measure of complex attention to a multiple regression equation improved prediction of EF by memory measures. Family and S ratings of EF were significantly correlated. Reports the development of the RBMT—C, a test based on memory tasks involved in normal daily life, with 4 parallel versions to allow monitoring of change. 85 children (aged 5–10 yrs) were administered 2 versions of the RBMT—C, along with intelligence and memory tests drawn from the British Ability Scales and the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children—Revised (WISC—R). Performance on the RBMT—C correlated with Intelligence scores for 5- and 6-yr-olds only, with Digit Span performance for 7-, 8-, and 9-yr-olds, and with Memory scores for 6-yr-olds only. Results establish the feasibility of using a test of everyday memory with children as young as 5 yrs and justify trials of the RBMT—C with abnormal populations. Explores how people with mild intellectual disabilities perform on the Rivermead Behavioural Memory Test (RBMT). 20 19–58 yr olds with an IQ score of 55–75 completed the adult version of the RBMT. There was a significant difference in performance across the 12 subtests, with the tests relying on verbal memory (e.g. story recall) proving the most difficult and those depending on visual memory (e.g. picture recognition) the easiest. There was also a negative correlation between age and RBMT scores. It was concluded that the RBMT is a suitable test to use with this population, it provides useful clinical information, but as the test currently stands, identification of specific memory impairments may not be possible. Comparison of two measures assessing prospective memory impairment in elderly people with schizophrenia.

Objective: To compare the results of two different measures assessing prospective memory (PM) in elderly schizophrenia, and explore their diagnostic validity. Methods: Fifty patients who were diagnosed as schizophrenia according to the criteria of Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fourth Edition (DSM-IV ) and 50 normal elderly people were enrolled in the study. Laboratory paradigm prospective memory task and the Chinese version of the Cambridge prospective memory Test (C-CAMPROMPT) were administered to measure the level of EBPM and TBPM. The Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale-Fourth Edition. Continuous Performance Test-Identical Pairs were used to evaluate IQ and attention. Results: Whether in the laboratory paradigm or C-CAMPROMPT, schizophrenia group performed worse than normal controls on PM total scores[7(0, 16) vs. 12(0, 16), 14 (4,34) vs.25 (11,36)], EBPM[3(0,8)vs. 6(0.8),7(2, I6)vs. 14 (4. 18)] and TBPM [3(0, 8) vs. 6 (0, 8), 6(2, 18) vs. 12 (4, 18)],and patients had comparable performances in PM subtypes [- 1.0( -2.2, 1.0)vs. -1.0 ( -2. 1, 0. 8), -1.9 ( -3.4,0. 8) vs. -1. 8(- 2. 9, 1. 6 )]. In the C-CAMPROMPT, the scores of EBPM and TBPM were negatively related to age(r = -0. 36 - - 0. 40, P < 0. 001), but there was no significant relationship between PM performance and age in the laboratory paradigm task. The area under ROC curve of the laboratory paradigm and CCAMPROMPT were 0. 73 and 0. 85. While 8 and 19 as the cut off value, the sensitivity were 0. 60 and 0. 74, and the specificity were 0. 76 and 0. 90, respectively. Conclusion: The two measures have confirmed that the elderly schizophrenia have comparable performances in EBPM and TBPM. Both the C-CAMPROMFT and the laboratory paradigm have moderate level of diagnostic validity, but the former is slightly higher and more susceptible to aging. These are commissioned reviews by assessment experts. I know they published one about the Cambridge Prospective Memory Test in 2005, and I think the most recent review of the Rivermead was in 2008.
