The experiences of African American girls with uniforms in middle school are diverse and can range from a sense of equality and practicality to concerns about self-expression, identity, and uniform enforcement
To me it brings both positive and negative impacts. In a positive sight, wearing uniform promotes equality because all girls are going to look the same in the same uniform. It also boosts high self esteem to girls who are from needy families because people are not going to differentiate them from those who come from well off families
In a negative sight, not all girls are going to afford to buy uniforms because uniform is very expensive. Some girls will be wearing old and torn uniforms, and that is going to make them feel uneasy when they are with others.
