According to me, the AI industry requires engineers to think in new ways, so imagination is a vital skill. In order to solve challenging problems using analytical thinking, engineers must use logic and reasoning to come up with new ideas.

One way to visualize the skills needed for artificial intelligence is to decompose the phrase into its two components: artificial and intelligence.

First, one needs a solid grasp of computer coding, and in particular python. Beyond this, one also needs to be able to think like a machine. For instance, imagine I have the question of who is the best actor. It is easy for a person to watch several movies and decide, but a computer find this problem very difficult because it involves intense visual and auditory learning. A great AI engineer has to be very adept at understanding how machines can think, and this understanding needs to come from a solid grounding in linear algebra and probability. Deriving gradient descent algorithms may not be necessary, but understanding classifier risk and VC dimension, for instance, is.

Second, one needs intelligence Implementing AI algorithms requires a clear understanding of the problem, a logical and creative solution, and a strong ability to think outside of the box. These skills really are crucial in all aspects of AI. I have often seen students who are very talented at math competitions become excellent at AI.

I have a suggestion: do not wait to learn first, jump to work and you will learn.

Here are some artificial intelligence skills that you need to have:

-Programming languages (Python & R are the most essential), I prefer the Python

-Linear algebra & statistics, we learned basic knowledge as an engineer

-Artificial Neural Network architectures, knowing about the neurons and layers, input, target

-MATLAB & Simulink, if you are a beginner without having a good ability in programming you can start with Matlab

-Signal processing techniques, it is useful for sensors and data mining
