http://physics.nist.gov/constants , the value of the Compton wavelength of the proton is subtracted from the squared by the standard formula, starting with the fourth decimal place. Is this related to the experimental data? If possible, results and references are desirable. Thanks in advance.
Theoretically its well established. Experimentally speaking, does neutron diffraction scattering experiments illustrates same fact? Nice question
Dear Mikhail,
the Compton wavelength of a particle is defined as lambda=h/(mc). Now, c is an exact number. h has been measured with an uncertainty of 6.1 ppb in units of MeV*s. You find all constants e.g. in http://pdg.lbl.gov/2017/reviews/contents_sports.html under 'physical constants'. So, remain the masses. Proton and deuteron masses have been precisely measured with Penning traps with an uncertainty of 6.2 ppb, measured in MeV/c^2. With the binding energy of the deuteron and the mass of the proton you get the mass of the neutron. The uncertainty is about the same, because the masses are measured much more precisely in u, the unit which is 1/12 of the 12C mass. Finally, experiments are involved in the determination of h and the masses.

One can even find the Compton wavelength of a planet or a star, these are not physical Compton wavelength, but "special" aggregates of Compton wavelengths. This because every composite mass consist of a aggregate of elementary particles. See also
