The foremost colonial inheritance, even in now independent democracy, is to have 'Rule of Law' but blatantly violate the same in the name of discretion. Our colonial masters gave our new masters the right way to violate 'Rule of Law' and to curtail the doctrine of 'Rule of Law' merely on papers rather than to permit it to become a 'Living Law'. If a doctrine is implemented in its spirit then the chances of abuse of power gets obliterated, however the human, political and legal history of every modern State reflects the opposite. Thus, the inheritance is of abuse of law and power rather than the spirit of 'Rule of Law'.
