Due to the impact of climate change, extreme weather has occurred frequently in recent years. Rice floret differentiation is easily affected by high temperature or low temperature, but for the climate of different rice planting areas, there are different forms of temperature fluctuations during the day, especially between day and night. For example, extremely high temperature is easy to occur during the day, but in July-August 2022 ( rice floret differentiation period in this area ), the floret differentiation of rice in southern China does not seem to be inhibited, so what is the reason? I thought about several possibilities: 1. In the period of extremely high temperature, the panicle differentiation activity of rice is higher in the environment of relatively low temperature at night; 2. There was no difference in panicle differentiation of rice during the day and night, but normal plant body temperature could be maintained at extremely high temperature during the day due to the strong transpiration effect. What other possible reasons, but this needs to be explored.
