Dear researchers, I'm building my stand-alone DC Microgrid DC-MG system in MATLAB Simulink. Thus, this system is destined for an agricultural Saharian zone and supplied mainly by the following distributed energy resources DER: PV, HESS, and Diesel backup generator. Exactly, I want to ask about management strategies to implement in such case ( looking for control policies with detail if possible).
Energy management strategies for such hybrid systems can be divided into three main categories :
1- rule based strategies such deterministic rules, fuzzy logic
2- frequency based strategies such as :filtering, adaptive filter, wavelete method
3 optimization rules : we can find here two types, online methods and offline (Dynamic programming, pontraygin methods etc..)

Among all control policies, maybe very useful will be to have some weather forecast and prediction functionality for PV sources and load forecast. It can be essential to have constant electricity for 24 hours. Those functionalities should run in dynamic manner. In designing phase, a proper rated power for PV, HESS and DG should be chosen. First those issues must be set and then you go to defining control polices. You have book like “Power System Stability and Control”, Prabha Kundur and “Power System Dynamics: Stability and Control”, Jan Machowski, Janusz Bialek, Dr Jim Bumby.
