Recently I have read some books in albanian language without references at the end of the book. Some of them are translations from english books.
In my opinion the references are as important as the content of the book.
What do you think about this?

I think that references should be mandatory, thus it makes sense what is written.
References are important for the authors to give the basis of their descriptions and also useful for the readers to make further studies. Thus, I strongly recommend the authors and translators to include the list of references in the book.
Textbooks are recommended for resources of learning, and that recommendation is better served when they contain references for further reading and broadening knowledge and skills for students, the very reason they are taking courses.

You're right. References also help the readers locate the sources of the contents. They can explore more from the reference list provided.
I would call it plagiarism. A coleavue of mine has found his textbook translated into albanian on the internet. Noone ever asked him for permision!
The references are obligatory both in the text body and at the back of each chapter. Furthermore, a list of recommended literature that is not used in composing of the respective chapter, may be added too.
Please do not get me wrong. With all my respect, I had a sense that to discuss on whether a scientific paper should contain a reference list is almost similar to discuss whether there is a difference between a novel and a scientific paper/book. Indeed, the latter is written based on previous studies/ideas etc. (this is equally true for studies in which grounded theory is adopted as a method of investigation) while the former is written based on the personal experiences, interpretation or reinterpretation of historical events etc. Although an Author of a novel may equally be inspired from previous personal/historical/social events/facts, even from the scientific facts etc., the main argument of a novel remains fictitious as it does not contain falsifiable hypothesis/logical research question(s) as a prerequisite; whereas the content of a scientific paper/book inevitably contains falsifiable hypotheses/logical research questions that are also open to investigation of others. Indeed, this discussion reminds me the earlier discussions on the difference between beliefs and knowledge, which dates back to the Plato (or even earlier). And to conclude, I can say that, by all means, particularly the ethical terms of the meaning, a scientific paper/book must include a reference list.
References are mandatory part of any text book, I fully agree. This is completely wrong not to include references.
I think reference is essential at the time of writing a book where thoughts and information is used from others sources. On the contrary, when a book of literature is written adding reference is not necessary as it is based on fundamental thoughts and imagination of writers.
