There is no doubt that the high and very low temperatures affect the behaviour of the concrete in the environment in which it was carried out. In the cold country, especially the marine environment, the freezing of the ice (ice phenomenon) and the melting causes cracks in the concrete and thus accelerates the process of concrete deterioration and also on the resistance of concrete with time. I mean the durability of Concrete. By the recurrence of freezing, water and solubility within the concrete lead to the emergence of internal forces leads to occur internal stresses. These forces and stresses resulting from the increase in water volume after freezing.

It is not clear from your question as to which behavior you have measured.

In fact the increase in temperature during hydration depends on grain size distribution of the cement and increase in temperature initially is attributed to the same.

Please clarify the behavior examined?

All depend on heat dissipation. Isolated concrete is different than concrete in direct contact with atmosphere. The type of formwork, the thickness of concrete section, the cement content, ..... etc are all factors that control such issue.

I have observed initial reverse behaviour of concrete temperature in Normal concrete, initial temperature was measured 33 deg then after 45 minutes observed 32.2 deg and after 2 hours observed 32 deg..what can you suggest me regarding this behaviour

Whether mix was with super plasticizer or normal mix, since the adding of superplasticizer will initially prevent hydration of cement particles and as we know the hydration is exothermic reaction the increase in temperature of concrete will be delayed for some time.

Sir , I am asking why temperature is decreasing instead of increasing.

Mix is M50 grade with PCE based admixture and normal temperature water around 20 deg .

Same mix is done with chilled water of 7 deg celcius and found results as you described above, temperature is increasing like initial 26.5 , 1 hour 27 then after 2 hrs found 28.3 deg celcius.

We need to know the entire time history to comment on this reverse behaviour. However, it seems abnormal and can be attributed to very fine cement particles that they hydrate fast and then temperature may decrease because even after 2 hours temperature is still decreasing.

Sir, please do the same trial at your own lab..you will also get the same results as I already observed.I am observing this behaviour since 10 years at three different exposure conditions..1st in Mumbai 2nd in Delhi and now in Nagpur but nobody accepting my statement.

Theoretical behaviour of concrete is only applicable if we use chilled water during mixing..
