I teach negotiation to mostly non-write adult students in Baltimore. I'm learning through books, seminars, and with their help how my whiteness makes so many aspects of my life easier. I want to share materials that are relevant to some of their specific challenges. We're learning together, but if you knew of anything in this area, I'd love to know more about it.

It seems to me that Jessica Calarco's Negotiating Opportunities might fit with what you're trying to accomplish. The result of five-years of ethnography conducted at the primary school level, it promises rare insights into the dynamics of children and their families. Bonne chance!
Oh, another thing, there's McLeod's Aint No Makin it, based on a senior thesis in Social Studies at Harvard. Check it out. Its reputation as a landmark study based on undergraduate work has been an inspiration and reference point for undergrad theses at Harvard for decades--driving the most talented students toward nervous breakdowns. ("Here, look, see what you can do? What, no book contract after your summa cum laude? Pshaw!")
