I have the attached file which have SQUID output, the Long momentum is negative and I need to treat the data in way to have XT (emu.mol/K) which will be in a range of 0
Hi Murad. You have to correct the diamagnetic contribution (negative) of your sample holder (a plastic capsule usually) by measuring an empty sample holden in the same conditions and extrapolating the signal of the sample holder to the T of your experimental data. X is simply calculated as: ](Long. moment)*(Mol. weight)] / [(mass in g) * (H in Gauss)]. Finally you should correct the diamagnetic contribution (also negative) of the inner paired electrons using Pascal Constant Tables (see G.A. Bain, J.F. Berry, J. Chem. Educ. 85 (2008) 532). Good luck !!
Yes, you should correct the diamagnetic contribution of both, the sample holder and internal paired electrons since the emu signal of your sample is negative. Contact me by mail and I will explain you in detail. Regards. Carlos
