The preliminary results of the 1st clinical trial are published. I hope in future clinical trials doses less than 1.5 Gy (the dose used by researchers at Emory University Hospital) is used. If Mohammad Khan et al. had used doses < 0.5 Gy instead of the 1.5 Gy, their 5th patient would have recovered more quickly. We were the first scientists who introduced the concept of low dose radiation therapy for COVID-19 related pneumonia . We still believe that the best therapeutic radiation dose is between 100-500 mGy, not more.

Moreover, the public should be warned about the hidden dangers of antiviral drugs such as Remdesivir. Now, we know that when the treatment is not effective and viral genome replicates, selective pressure leads the virus to rapid adaptation toward resistance “An increasing number of viral infections that impair host health are treated using antiviral drugs, .... If the treatment is robust and viral fitness is impaired sufficiently, no viral genomes will be successfully replicated, but if treatment is not as effective and some genomes replicate, selective pressure may result in rapid adaptation toward resistance”.

The Spanish website just mentioned by Dr Damián Guirado seems fair as it deals with both papers for and against low dose radiation therapy for COVID-19, although it is 6 week old. Now 11 clinical trials are ongoing in 6 countries, of which 3 studies are ongoing in Spain.

Maybe, in countys where low-dose X ray therapy (single dose of 0.5 Gy) is an approved and commonly used option in the treatment of degenerative bone and inflammatory diseases, patients would rather trust in this therapy option than other ones.

Although the authors of the original article (Salomaa et al.) are knowledgeable scientists, there are some omissions in their paper. Our responses to the omissions in their paper are now published in the Int'l J Radiat Biol.

In particular, we have addressed shortcomings such as focusing on linear no-threshold hypothesis and not considering the key advantages of LDRT (compared to using antiviral drugs) such as antithrombotic effects of LDRT and lack of “selective pressure”.

On August 23, 2020, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued an emergency use authorization (EUA) for investigational convalescent plasma for the treatment of COVID-19 in hospitalized patients. FDA report states that "“The FDA’s emergency authorization for convalescent plasma is a milestone achievement in President Trump’s efforts to save lives from COVID-19,” said Secretary Azar".

However, there are distinguished scientists who believe that although convalescent plasma (CP) is promising and saves lives but not to the extent that was described by the head of FDA on 8-23-2020. This is exactly the reason that our international team suggested using a hybrid method that can maximize benefits for COVID-19 patients, i.e. low dose radiation therapy (LDRT) and convalescent plasma. LDR, not only has anti-inflammatory effects but also optimizes the activity of the immune system. We believe that a hybrid treatment including both CP and LDRT can trigger synergistic responses that will help healthcare providers in mitigating today's COVID-19 pandemic. Any attempt to inactivate a virus exerts strong selective pressure on the virus. Given this consideration, antiviral drugs can exert strong selective pressure on SARS-COV-2. In March 2020, we proposed the concept of Low Dose Radiation Therapy (LDRT) for COVID-19 associated pneumonia. This treatment was a 100% "selective pressure-free" therapeutic approach. After our paper, tens of papers published on this issue, and now LDRT for COVID-19 is receiving rapidly increasing global attention.

The latest systematic review and meta-analysis concluded that, despite a mild improvement in intubation-free days, whole lung irradiation had no significant effect on patients' overall survival, so that routine use of whole lung irradiation cannot be recommended for the treatment of moderate to severe COVID-19 patients.

Radiation do not destroy antibodies. However, idea about use radiation to destroy cytotoxic lymphocytes (which attack cells with viruses and initiate massive necrosis) really not good. First of all therapists can use glucocorticoids for same reason - it is effective, not expensive, simple for use or make a plasmapheresis for separation lymphocytes from blood.

Practically you have got from cancersticked cells or covid viruses cells of patients.when you apply then data will speak of its result.
