Is there any reliable polishing method to get nice and clean gold microelectrodes on microfluidic devices? I don't want to get peculiar gold oxide peaks in 100 mM sulfuric acid once I get my device fabricated.
When electropolishing in sulphuric acid, you can remove any residual gold oxide by chemical reduction in ethanol, or by electrochemical stripping in sulphuric acid. This method worked for me, although i was working on macroelectrodes not microelectrodes.
