If you want to simulate the D1820 within the PIC simulator: I tried to simulate a similar problem decades ago and - - - gave up, instead developing with the native device. The setup of the PIC simulator for serial communications is rather complex and 'lengthy'. It is ok for combinational input patterns, but requires a lot of tedious work when it comes to serial protocols.
