Join the forefront of environmental research with a fully-funded Ph.D. program at the Earth Observatory of Singapore, a leading geoscience institute in Southeast Asia. This project, part of the Climate Transformation Program (MOE Tier3c program), offers a unique blend of fieldwork, lab analysis, and advanced numerical modeling.
Project Focus will be on investigating historical flood records in Equatorial Southeast Asia. Activities include fieldwork in Malaysia and Indonesia for sediment collection, laboratory analyses for dating and geochemistry, and numerical hydraulic modeling.
Housed at EOS, NTU, the student will benefit from a multidisciplinary environment, interacting with experts in tectonics, volcanology, ecology, and more. This environment fosters a holistic understanding of Earth sciences and broadens research perspectives.
Highly motivated, self-driven, and independent candidate, with background in physical geography, geology, hydrology, or geomorphology.
The project funding includes a 4-year full scholarship at NTU with a competitive stipend. Student will be given opportunity for a one-semester overseas visit as a visiting scholar, as well as support for attending international conferences like AGU.
