DEVICE_DISTANCE(d1,d2) is the API to get the distance between any 2 devices in NetSim

This declaration is found in Stack.h file. Expand 'External dependencies' in any project in NetSim.sln file to find the Stack.h file.

 where d1 and d2 are the device id's

 Example :

Also, I have a general question regarding localization. Will there be an issue if the 3 anchor nodes are collinear? Because when finding the inverse of the matrix I finding the determinant to always be zero.

GET_RX_POWER_mw(tx,rx,time) is the NetSim API to get the received power between wireless devices which is available in IEEE802_11_Phy.h.

 where 

    tx is the transmitter Id,

    rx is the receiver Id and 

    time is the current event time (pstruEventDetails->dEventTime)

 Example: 

double Received_Power = GET_RX_POWER_dbm(pstruEventDetails->pPacket->nSourceId, pstruEventDetails->pPacket->nDestinationId, pstruEventDetails->dEventTime);

Thank you Rahul. I have been able to complete localization in NetSim using RSSI and Trilateration, and get very good results.

I want to know what may be some additional research that can be done on this using NetSim. Is it possible to work on minimizing error? I always get the exact positions. How do I introduce error?

Hi Jalaj, You can introduce shadowing/fading in the wireless channels in NetSim. This will lead to some error if you use trilateration for finding out the positions.
