thank you for your question. My APS work is focused on in vitro assays as well as on animal models to unravel basic antibody-mediated mechanisms apart from clotting.
Patient studies are mainly conducted by clinician scientist. To my knowledge there are only few studies investigating brain involvement in APS (none of them in my area) and many are focused on how to prevent clotting an subsequent ischemic events. On this webpage you get an overview which and where clinical APS studies are conducted or have been completed.
EXACTLY! All the clinicians are NOT studying "apart from clotting". They are all making a very large assumption that form must follow function, unconcerned with the possibility of multiple functions.
