I don’t know this error, but I’m using nastran very frequently. Therefore I have some experience and want to help.

Nastran errors are often not very clear and direct. So could you please check your .f06 also for warnings? Often these give a hint to the real problem.

And could you please provide a screen shot of the end of the .log?

As a first guess, maybe there are not enough licenses available. Is your license pool shared with other colleagues?

The '.f06' has no warnings at all when this error shows up. It doesn't even compile the code when it occurs, because apparently, it is stated as a "license issue". However, at Carleton University we have the license for full access to MSC NASTRAN, so that's the inconsistency with this error. The license is shared with other people, so I don't think there is a limit to access it.

I am annexing here the .log and .f06 that were generated when this error occurs. I had to crop the .log because it wasn't sending the complete file here for some reason. It does indicate that the license is unexistent in the server, but this makes no sense.

Do you know if NASTRAN has some sort of cooldown/temporary blocking because I am sending too many requests since I am using the software in a loop? If so, any ideas on how to mitigate this?

thanks for the files.

I was thinking about that other users reserve all licences and there are not enough left for you. Thats typically when a bunch of people use nastran. But in this case, there is an other error in the .log-file.

In your case I think, the license server is completly unavailable. For license servers I'm unfortunatly not the expert. Nevertheless, maybe you can check if the license server has network connectivity problems, or other cpu or data intensive jobs "blockade" the server hardware.
