@ Sharmila Saminathan, It is reported that KCl was used as flux (I don't know what does it mean) and they mixed it with other oxide materials in stoichiometric ratio and then just ground, heated and at the end they washed it with deionized water.
In fact molten salt method is a well know rout for synthesizing of any type of ceramic powders . this method is based on providing a molten salt environment to react raw material more easier than solid state reaction. you can use any type of salt which have eutectic point at high temperature in a binary system and after this point one of them will be decomposed and react with any substrate or other ionic species in initial mixture. after cooling you can wash your solidified salts with deionized water to remove unreacted salts and your synthesized products will remain on your filter paper.
