I am going through the literature and compiling a methods that could be used in an attempt to "disinfect" or reduce the number of exterior microbes on fresh hard bodied invertebrates. The specimen will be killed and processed for down stream molecular work. We are chiefly interested in identifying bacteria presence and abundance inside the critters. Organ isolation is not a great option for us at this time.
