I am about to undertake a study on memes, GIFS and other political joked that emerge and spread on social media platforms during an elections period in a country in sub-saharan. What kind of methodologies would you suggest for this kind study.
1. Analyse visual characteristics, such as Stationary image, GIF, video, text-only, text as graphic, etc....
2. Do a theme analysis. Analyze the message, such as message, call to action, political perspective, honesty/deception, etc.
