Fish reared in saline water drink more water to compensate hypo-saline condition of the extracellular fluid with subsequent discharge of extra salts through chloride cells of gills at the costs high energy . But how shrimps do the mechanism???
All marine invertebrates including an exceptional vertebrate, the hagfish are osmo-conformers, i.e., they can maintain the osmolarity of their body fluid as per the salinity concentration of the marine water in which they live. Because shrimps are osmo-conformors they can maintain the osmolarity as per the salinity of the sea water.
Thank you sir for your response. But I need the details how the mechanism occurs in body of shrimp. If you have any literature regarding this please forward to me.
