From most Digisonde ionosondes I can download SAO-files containing all the measured and derived values.
I only need foF2, fxI, foE and foEs as function of time.
Does anyone have a MatLab script to get these fields from the SAO-file?
I have the SAO file description, but do not understand the structure. If I would know at what line and position I can find the time stamp, and the same for the other fields, I can write a MatLab script for it myself. And of course I will share it (e.g. via MatLab Central).
I usually use the following vbscript. Anyway all the ionospheric parameters you are interested in are located in the sixth row. The following vbscript refers to the last SAO file format before the beginning of the SAO XML format.

I think that the easiest way is using SAO Explorer to extract foF2, fxI, foE and foEs from the SAO files.
You can download the SAO Explorer from http://ulcar.uml.edu/SAO-X/SAO-X.html
In SAO Explorer you can explore checked parametres for opened SAO file (button View/Characteristics) - in the new window in the Text mode you can choose the button "Save as" for exporting characteristics to simple text file.

I also using vbscript to read the SAO files that generated for CADI ionosonda using ESIR software. I attached the picture (using bahasa) .
