Social Innovation courses are often declined in a way that is often attached to social entrepreneurship or design methods (i.e. theory of change). Can you suggest any material on how to draw a course for MSc students combining social innovation theories/methodologies with territorial development policy and/or urban studies?
I think the Open Book of Social Innovation, by Muglan et. al. might be a helpful source, although it doesn't fully address the combination of theories and methodologies. Also, it is not a proper handbook.
In addition, Mulgan has recently released Social Innovation. How societies find the power to change (https://policy.bristoluniversitypress.co.uk/social-innovation). According to the table of contents, it looks an updated handbook.
I think a valuable choice might be to collect articles for the students, if this meets your way of teaching.
I would suggest that you look into the work of a research center called CRISES in UQAM Canada. Especially the work of Juan-Luis Klein and of Jean-Marc Fontan.
