COVID19 crisis has exposed the fragility of current food systems especially in developing countries. most of the countries (including developed) are not able to help others but trying to come out of the crisis first themselves. The current food systems which are dependent a lot of international food trade are threatened and consequently the associated people especially many countries in Asia and Sub Saharan Africa.

There might be a need to look at the future approach to build resilient food systems which are basic necessity of life.

Hence what should be our approach: giving greater ficus on building local decentralized food systems vs. international trade for improving food security!

Do we need to change our approach for ensuring global food security and achieve SDGs!
