I think it has a problem because it didn't consider all energy dissipation such as steady state phase and the lifetime figure isn't correct according to Heinzelman paper in year 2000

Hi Nika,

Please read the LEACH and SEP papers, there are minor variations like the position of the Sink which will definitely affect the energy dissipation. The energy dissipation during the steady phase is ignored including packet retransmission is assumed. So lots of assumptions where made. However, if you really want to try something more realistic check out CASTALIA and there is also a Google group. LEACH has been implemented in this framework. @Nika, great to know you have same results when you ignore the steady state phase. Yes the original paper ignored the energy dissipation during the steady state phase for matlab implementation. However, I think they further implemented LEACH in NS-2 where they considered the energy dissipated during the steady state phase (i cant verify this though). Hi @Muhammad,

All you need to do is just run the Leach.m code, either you use the GUI or you type the name of the "file_name.m" in the command line inside matlab. You dont need simulink etc. Once you run the code you should see a square box poping up with nodes flickering, indicating the simulation is in progress. Once all the nodes turn to red, it means they are all dead. Either you wait for the program to terminate by itself or you can terminate it with ctrl + c . The data set is generated in Workspace window on the left. You can export this vector/arrays into a spreadsheet such as excel or just analyse them with Matlab. I will recommend you change simple stuff in the code and observe the effect. This will help you to quickly know how it operates.
