In the users‘ guide of Mplus, there is an example of using categorical variable and continuous variable in one analysis(in the version of Mplus7 Example 7.11), but I have not seen a paper in the journal （ssci/sci）using both categorical variable and continuous variable in one analysis.
So at the method level, is this operation acceptable, and if there were some recommending journal articles, I would be appreciated for that!

I do not see any reason why you should not use a mixture model. They are also included in various textbooks. I found this random article after a 10-second search on Google Scholar:

As David Boyda said, there is loads more. However, I am unsure what you would gain by demonstration that others have applied this method. In the end, the method must fit your research question(s).
