Issues on wireless communication in space; can WSN be used for this?

I understand space communication is based on certain characteristics specific to space environment. What I am looking for is how sensors effect this in communication.

Yes can be used. Sensor is a device which converts physical parameters such as pressure, humidity, sound, light etc., into electrical quantities. You need to concentrate on all parameters said above in their technical/electronic importance into your simulation/testbed studies. Primarily you need to simulate all those parameters which fall into your topic of interest and have a survey. Thereafter you can concentrate on simulation and hence testbed
