Sodium hydroxide solution of known molarity is mixed with commercially available sodium silicate solution and this liquid mix is used to prepare geopolymer mortar or concrete using fly ash or combination of fly ash and GGBS.  we noticed that Sodium hydroxide solution made from sodium hydroxide flakes seems to be different from that made by dilution of sodium lye liquid even though the final molarity of Sodium hydroxide solution used to prepare geopolymer mix is same.  There was noticeable compressive strength difference.
