I'm a PhD student in Remote Sensing working on drought monitoring.
I need a thesis or a book in this field. Obviously, the mentioned reference should have the Climatic and Geographic concepts of this specific type of drought.
The book or thesis can also include the topics related to drought monitoring by remote sensing. but, it should comprehensively address climatic and agricultural issues in this field and include the classical/ground-based methods for agricultural drought identification and monitoring.

You may want to check and publications by John S. Boyer is was a pioneer in drought physiology the classical approaches are well covered by him. Try google scholar John S. Boyer drought physiology you should be able to get started. Also type using the search of images which can be very helpful in getting a quick handle on a subject area of interest.
