In Word Checklist of Selected Plant Families (http://apps.kew.org/wcsp/home.do ) the only record of Melanthiaceae for Pakistan is a species of Trillum. Flora of Pakistan (http://www.efloras.org/florataxon.aspx?flora_id=5&taxon_id=10915 ) treats Trilliaceae separately, and additionally records Paris. So, Melanthiaceae in the strict sense obviously is missing in Pakistan. I am a bit surprised that even Veratrum does not occur in the mountains of Pakistan.
