They said that almost researchers adhere that brief and concise titles for research papers are said to attract majority of readers. Are there any rules as to how many words are required in crafting research titles? Please help.
I'd say that you're on the right track with "...brief and concise.."; so, short and transparent (social science papers anyway); papers with short, transparent---and interesting---titles attract me.
Perhaps it is not really about the number of words. The issue is: What is the minimal number of interrelated phrases, terms or words that carry over the intended 'message' of the project/paper/document/etc. to the (addressed) peers? As past and current editor, I apply the above rule to decide on what is necessary and sufficient.
