My first Edited book titled "Indian Tourism: Diaspora Perspective" by Emerald Publishing has been indexed in Scopus.
While I'm happy, I'm intrigued to know on what basis, the books are selected to be listed in Scopus. Likewise, some of my chapters contributed to Edited books under Springer, IGI Global and Emerald have been indexed in Scopus too, something that I had no idea when they got accepted and published.
So, if you can share your knowledge, it'll help me.

Though I have no idea about the exact basis/parameters used in assessing the quality of work/book/chapter for indexing in Scopus database. I'm familiar with the policy of IGI Publishing so thought of sharing my insight on this question.
IGI Global has a policy of sending each published book for Scopus indexing. Usually, the book is sent after few days/months of publication and if the book is doing fine and meets the rigor/quality, it is automatically indexed into Scopus. This happens for each and every book published with IGI, that is the reason why some of your book chapters with them have automatically indexed into Scopus.
I also looked at some other publishing house's policy, like Emerald, but they do not have such clearcut policy of sending each entry for Scopus consideration.

I am not sure whether there is API on SCOPUS indexed Book Chapter or not but it will surely enrich your CV.
