I started to write a review article on neonatal abstinence syndrome and it is getting longer and longer- just about a small book now. Does it make sense to publish in a book format rather then as a series of review articles? It is financially worth the extra effort to publish as a book?
It will be better to publish in a book format than series of review articles as it will allow easy access to all knowledge and information than collecting from different reviews
I am not sure because it is more difficult to get a copy of chapter from a book unless you contact the author(s) directly than in journals that publish reviews.

I would think that the content would determine format. Pharmacology/ physiology, practice guidelines and anecdotal information would have longevity that warrants a book, while statistical data that is frequently updated would be more suited to journal
