We have a global sample of human populations (i.e. ethno-linguistic groups) with ethnographic data, but there is a regional over-representation of some populations, e.g. sub-Saharan Africa, SW North America, SE Asia, compared to populations in other regions. I'm concerned if this could obscure analysis and results even when controlling for phylogenetic relatedness. Or phylogeny solves the problem?

Thanks.
