As far as I know, most of the Habitat connectivity indices are calculated for the terrestrial ecosystems and organisms. But for the organisms moving in the water ways like crocodiles, what kind of factors should I consider for their habitat connectivity? Please advice me FRAGSTATS is the suitable software to calculate the connectivity or please suggest me the another suitable ones? Thanks.
You can use a functional connectivity index, rather than structural index, and can model the probability of habitat contiguity and population spatial distribution :)
Thanks for your answer. Meanwhile, I am planning to calculate habitat suitability value for all the pixels of my study area then I am going to calculate the connectivity index for all the pixels. But while I am reading your reference paper, I don't know how to calculate biological connectivity for each point, could you please clarify a detailed more a bit? Thanks much.
