Please, describe in more detail your experiment, does the pressure changes during the DSC? In any cases in my experiments during solution (ideal included) two process occurs simultaneously: heat (energy) release due to strengthening of interatomic bonds and heat (energy) absorption due to the increase in average heat capacity, which is coincides with entropy - in this instance entropy of mixing. When you change pressure these processes partly separated in time.
Energy meaning of mixing entropy is confirmed by osmotic pressure, when any mixing results in formation of osmotic pressure, which in its tem can be transformed to useful energy or work
In the situation like this, it is felt that the exotherm recorded during heating could correspond to the crystallization and the endotherm following this exotherm could result due to the melting of this crystalline phase. The solidification of melt during cooling would result in exotherm.Hence in such situation one can get exotherms in the DSC traces both during heating and cooling.
