Nowadays AI is being used in every field. Even researchers are also using AI to write papers. Manually it used to take lot of time to rightly knit the story and produce a good paper but now researchers are doing it in 10-20 minutes by using AI. In terms of quantity of papers produced they are much ahead. I want to know opinion of fellow researchers on the same as the use of AI is justified and is it ethical?
I am currently publishing a paper and I'll give you the answer stated in the journal's guidelines I saw, "it is ok to use IA for grammar and a fair use to help with the English language, not generate an entire paper or sections."
Speaking as a reviewer, you have tools to detect IA-generated content and frankly speaking, the quality is bad, IA is barely high-school level in reasoning.
I have used AI techniques such as spell and syntax checkers and applications such as Google translator and DeepL for proofreading my texts and I think many others have been using these tools for several years now. At that time I don't think anyone asked whether it was right to use these tools. So, I think that as long as the ideas expressed are my own it is not wrong to use AI techniques to improve the writing of texts. The opposite is the case when AI is used to generate a text autonomously.
Kumar Saurabh, I agree with the answers previously added. Use it to check the way you express ideas, make translations and I find it especially useful to modify the way different cultures organize words (syntax) to express idea and feelings. - But...If I consider your question as written, my response is, "no". - First, unless you find and clearly credit the author you cannot use ideas created by others as yours. In addition; in my work I use it extensively to ask questions and compare response(s) to current research -but- not to create my research conclusions. What I like best is AL helps me learn what the question(s) is.
