Is it necessary to use capacitors at output of 7805 (and input) if input is 9 V DC from battery?
The straight answer: YES
A bit more refined: two 100 nF capacitors (one at the input, one at the output) are the minimum to prevent the 7805 from oscillating. Adding some µF at the input and output will help improving output voltage "quality" (reducing ripple), if you do not have a constant load. And no - microprocessors are NOT considered a constant load !

capacitors removes unnecessary signals and spikes from output signal. But i think 9V from battery is pure dc. but i am unsure about output capacitor.
