Is it necessary to predict the tensile strength of early age concrete directly from the microstructure development and heat of hydration of cement?

Compressive strength can be predicted by means of microstructure development and hydration heat of cement. Then, tensile strength can be predicted from the compressive strength. However, I think that it would be better to develop a model for tensile strength of early age concrete from its microstructure development and hydration heat of cement.
