I was curious to follow your question !

Firstly, I agree with the other answers that the the “carbon paste” is not the same thing as carbon black (NB: i amorphous carbon). However, the composition of carbon pastes and their application (lubricating properties, temperature resistance, electrical properties, etc) is very different. Please consider below are some few examples:

A carbon-paste electrode (CPE) is made from a mixture of conducting graphite powder and a pasting liquid…( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carbon_paste_electrode )

High Temperature Carbon Paste is a dispersion of Carbon flakes in an inorganic silicate aqueous solution. (https://www.tedpella.com/technote_html/16057%20TN.pdf)
