I do not know the Londosi barite deposit by myself but I studied several deposits bearing barite, fluorite and celestite or paid some visits to Ba mines. If you are able to describe the mineralization and the ore in more detail an appropriate answer in one or the other direction of thoughts may be given. According to my knowledge it is a vein-type deposit also containing Zn (?). This would suggest a hydrothermal origin. But you might provide a more detailed information on the structure and texture and mineral composition to tailor-made the answer to your question.

Hello, combined with your preliminary description, I think this barite mine may be related to hot water jet deposition (SEDEX). One of the iron-magnesian rocks may be derived from underlying magma or volcanic structures, which provide a thermal drive for hot water jet deposition. However, I would like to know the ore body morphology of the deposit and the contact relationship characteristics of the surrounding rock.

The footwall of the deposit comprise a metamorphosed igneous sequence of mainly mafic and ultramafic composition. At the base of this sequence was intruded by foliated granitoids. The upper most sequence of the footwall are units of layered amphilobite with talcose and serpentinous achist below. The barite occurs as massive white layers associated with silica and amphibolite fragments,The hanging wall is basically rhyolite ash flow tuffeceous material.
