It is difficult to identitfy the specimen, as several important distinguishing characters are not visible on the photographs.

However, this is probably the Grunting toadfish Allenbatrachus grunniens (Linnaeus 1758) (family BATRACHOIDIDAE).

The species is known to be distributed from the Gulf and India east to the Philippines. It lives in coastal waters and in estuaries, on mud bottoms.
