Like any other technology, AI will sure affect alot in the far future. If we remember the industrial age, the rise of mechanical machines, gave humanity the chance to reshape the concept of employment. Typically, AI will give humans the chance to rethink the concept of corporations and economy. AI will push humanity forward to challenge creativity as individuals and equality as societies.
In the field of Academics, it might not be totally harmful due to the complexity of learning system of our brains. We as humans need another human to learn more efficiently due to emotional, psychological and other factors which are hard for AI/robots to mimic.
But we can use AI in academia in order to more efficiently explain certain subjects and provide more concrete evidence during the lessons. There are unlimited possibilities in the field of AI both good and bad. What we can do as humans is to regulate the technology and use it for advancement of our society and knowledge. And we should also provide some limitations on what AI technologies can do, much like animals, we can tame them in order to make them do specific tasks and become master in that task. They learn by themselves and become better from time to time, but they just do that specific tasks that are trained for them.
AI for sure will affect employment in general and teaching as a job will surely be affected. But, i have to disagree when you state that everything humans do can be an algorithm. Because, human behaviour has many aspects, we have to separate between logical thinking that is similar to algorithms and acting human that is unpredictable.
For teaching, maybe we will see a teaching assistant robot, but the leading teacher should be a person, because humanity need human behavior in tutoring, evaluating and leading the way. But for sure robots will change every aspect of jobs roles, rules and laws in the future.
