Dear All, Can any one share their experience of dealing well foundation in India and abroad.
As per the Indian standards (IS & IRS), we have to treat the well as shallow and neglect the side shear resistance and depend on only Base resistance to arrive SBC.
And, immediate settlements are happened during construction it self in cohesionless soils. Is this correct ? If yes, what about the creep settlements which may happen for a life span of 100 years of Bridge structure ?

Yes ,long term settlement are not considered in cohesionless soil. Creep settlement are not important in well foundations
