First of all, many thanks to the providers of free sources of remote sensing imagery and data such as Landsat and sentinel imagery. Yes this data can be used for commerical applications, but their avialability at the fingrertips of the researchers around the globe will triger many ideas that could help in saving our planet from the induced damges of our current civilization. Saving our planet is not an option, it is an urgent call for all of us to address it. This effort requires a collaboration among scientists, researchers, engineers, and the wider community of the human being.
Now the question is:
How we can deeply promote the provision of free souces of remote sensing imagery and data to help our planet sustainability?
Several countries now have satellite imaging capabilities and if they shared their archived data, they will enrich the fabric of the research outcomes by orders of magnitude.

Currently and as I know there are many organizations and agencies which are helping in promoting remote sensing for the sake of sustainable use of the planet earth natural resources and to reduce the natural disasters effects. To name few such as USGS "https://earthexplorer.usgs.gov", NASA "https://oceancolor.gsfc.nasa.gov", ESA "https://earth.esa.int/web/guest/home". All these organizations provide satellite images that varies in spectral, spatial, temporal and radiometric resolutions for free. Yes you can argue about some of the most important commercial satellites that have remarkable specifications such as Worldview 4, Spot 7 and many others which should be either very low in price or free and affordable.

I think one easy and useful way is to cite these data in the research and reports. Many scientists don't know how and where they can obtain free of charge images.

Thank you very much for the feedback. In fact, your point is very valid. Yes, we need to inform the others about the existing sources of free of charges satellite data. In addition, we need to develop more attention to the international community to open some of their data for the usage by the reseacher saround the globe, in particular, the ones who own satellite imaging capabilities.
