First, you need to know what phase alumina you are looking for? Alpha, Gamma and ...? Secondly non-porous or nano porous ? If you are looking for nanoporous, you can use any precursor such as minerals containing aluminum , metallic aluminum, aluminum nitrate, aluminum sulfate, aluminum chloride, etc.. Synthesis methods are include sol-gel, nanocasting, and so on.
