Have to reduce hospital population density by reducing staff working hours and maybe provide 4 hours shift. Increase work flexibility and temporarily close down some high risk wards. I am suggesting that you need to include variables like rest and sleep and proper nutrition of healthcare providers not only PPE.These can be an intervening variables

Employment of PPE (e,g, face-pieces) appears to be beneficial in protecting those who are asymptomatic or having symptoms from spreading the virus. It is less likely these devices provide much protection from breathing in the virus. Regardless, there does appear to be a benefit in using masks for preventing spread. ,

PPE is not enough in protecting the health workers because we still interact with the general public outside work environment.There is the need for continuous sensitization of the populace on how to curtail the spread.

I believe through my experiance nurses would need our extra support such motoring thier health , nutrotion, reast , family issues and clinic for consultaion of thier stress and communication

Apart from PPE, health care workers need adequate support and cooperation of the hospital management in order to be protected form the infection. Their welfare need to be considered too. This is important because when they are infected, they become risks to patients, their families and the public in general.

That is right because some hospital administrators tend to forget these issues. Some front liners died because of fatigue and lack of sleep specifically the residents on duty.

Yes PPE's alone are not enough, duty off, meals during duty hours, reporting with minimum features like fever, sore throat, malaise and bringing them to hospital immediately for observation and test are required. Providing them psychological support and keeping in touch during quarrantine period are also to be considered. Transportation during lockdown, accomodation in nearby areas are also important.Overall support from management and local authorities are vital.

I do agree dear Piyali Bose and we have already lost so many health workers. We don't want to lose anymore.

Other measures should be put in place like testing from time to time. Some are kept in hotels, well fed, rest & go to work from there so as to the strength & immunity to withtand Covid

19, these workers can spend up to three months, and a negative test, they can go home to their families for up to two weeks or more before resuming duties, this will not allow them to infect others

.I think they can create two rooms in all the services. The first room they can put hand sanitizer, washing basket cloth, and bin, the second room it a changing room when nurses are at the end of they are service they might go to the first room take out PPE and hospital clothes then go to the second room dressed the home clothes After that they must go back home. at the next shift, they will start by sign then taking The hospital clothes and PPE with 95% of the masque protection for all the service.

I have noticed in practice that most practitioners tend to slightly move, touch and reposition masks.

The single most important action we can take to reduce the risk of infection (both practitioners and members of the public alike) is that the front part is not touched (almost everyone misses this).

If one wants to reuse a mask, fold it to the outside, though this is not recommended for more than once.

PPE'S only are not sufficient. Health care providers have not been supported at all level and this has brought dire consequences .We speak of nursing a patient comprehensively , how about providing the same care to the healthcare staff. Provision of support

is indeed lacking being a support structure psychologically, physically and financially. Even given proper facilities to rest and or eat meals it's a challenge how then do they stand a chance in fighting Covid '19.

PPE should be adequate along with assignments of donning and doffing of PPE in seperate rooms and the staff should be rationalised so that they get adequate time for rest and if the staff gets exposed they can be replaced by other staff.

I think it will be better for nurses to stay faraway from their family during their work shift, if they have many rooms, you can use one room for during work shift but they must respect all the method of protect them self from COVID 19, they need also help relation to protect them from anxious.

I am only wondering whether the more than 600 healthcare workers already lost had had what (type) of PPE which could enable us to suggest what might have worked and what might have not.

It must be ensured that the patient wears a mask.

Avoid spraying during coughing and sneezing.

And banning visitors ...

And reduce the time in the patient’s room and keep distance ...

The hands are sterilized for patients, surfaces, and tools.

Educating the public to avoid emergency / urgent care if they only have mild to moderate "flu-like" symptoms (to avoid spread) ...

with quarantine ...

One thing is the availability of the protective equipment another is making sure they wear them properly and always.

@Myasar Mohsin these measures have been in place. However, a lot is yet to be learned about the virus.

In addition to PPE, they should be given the vaccines.
