I was analysing the acid value of some fatty acids. When it come to stearic acid, the substance going foamy and white-colored, and also become something creamy. I was not sure if I have reached the end point or not, because of the form of the substance after I added some NaOH to it. After some NaOH, the color changed, but I don't know if it is the end point or not, I am afraid that I actually have passed the end point. In this condition, how do we know the end point?

Did you try to find out why the solution is foaming?
Try reducing stirring rate or stop it if you were using it and see.
Otherwise, try pHmeter as mentioned above.

I think it's because I used a 92% stearic acid (and dissolve it with ethanol), so it's quickly create dense foam. I will try your suggestion too, thank you
